if you are talking about bullet prof vests, almost any sword would do.

well even though the thread starter got banned.. most knives will go through a kevlar vest... any sturdy fixed blade knives.. like a SOG Seal... or a cold steel tanto... kevlar is more resistant to blunt instant impact.. not so much with someone behind the knife putting continuous momentum into the blade..

What about specifically stab vests like the british police wear?

I could be wrong, but I think any blade with a nice, solid, drop-point tip on it (i.e. the version of the tanto that Cold Steel makes) would do the job. A simple dirk like the old Sykes/Fairnbarn dagger Brit paratroops use to carry, and which can still be purchased so far as I know, would probably do better. I just wouldn't want to draw the attention of law enforcement while I had one on my person, as they are illegal in many places and even where they're not illegal it just doesn't look good to be found carrying a knife that is designed to do pretty much only one thing and do it well (that being dispatching an enemy sentry by shanking them in the skull and/or kidneys).

most vests in the US are made to stop bullets.. the ones in the uk are made for protection against getting stabbed.. because in the UK civilians arent allowed to have guns.. so i guess they will stop stab wounds...

i like to stab people up into the arm pit, iliac artery, neck, inside of the elbow, eye, temple, base of the neck, crook of the knee, achilles, in the ear.

so many places to stick one person. the best way is to come from behind.
