CowboyPete and MyopicRequiem:

Great points!

I agree that if a weapon is pulled, it's time to go, but you will have the occassional nut for whatever reason will want to continue on even if a weapon is displayed.

As for me I always have a tactical folder available, and sometimes a collapsable baton.

The beautiful thing about TN is that it isn't a CCW its a pistol carry permit. You can carry it however you feel as long as you have your license. Of course you have to put it away in those places they teach you about at the safety class.

A billiards ball in a thick wool sock. I'd like anyone to take one of those to the ribs or face and have the courage to stand up and keep coming.

i dont really think about carrying anything, the only thing i kinda make sure i got (maybe soundin sad here) is i smoke, so i cmake sure i use one of those rounder type lighters, just to grip if i need to, make my fist tighter. thats about it.

I'm going to be a school teacher pretty soon and i can handle myself pretty well. I cant afford to get in trouble at this point and I was immature and dumb for doing that. i was never in danger of getting killed or mugged i just went out alot and got drunk in over crowded bars with tons of meathead frat guys who all thought they were tough guys because they did alot of bicep curls in the weight room, and would walk around in packs fucking with people.

My suggestion is not carry these things, pepper spray is an excellent self defense tool and will normally allow you to get away without getting hurt, ive actually accidently sparyed myself with the stuff right in the face and it burns really bad for about 30 minutes.
wow...cheap

Well, I'm from OH, and until I get done with school, that's where my "permanent residence" is, and there it's a CCW license. I need to check out TN and KY law on the whole deal, tho...

To the people sayin' that they dont worry about gettin' mugged or w/e when ya go out, y'all're the most likely ones to get mugged. The vast majority of the time, criminals will pick out somebody who's not payin' attention to their surroundings, and if they decide to attack, you might not know that they're there until you're wakin' up face-down in the pavement, if you're that lucky.

On another note, like one person said, tho, you dont carry somethin' on you if you're goin' to a place where it's not allowed. That's just plain common sense.
