Icon4 Ummm...

Some Scary Stuff... I live at the top (well kinda) of Scotland (which is not, I might add part of England)
and it is a little rough with unpleasant heroin addicts roaming
around hopeless and penniless and sore (needing "gear")...
At the risk of seeming corny, the Bruce Lee self-defence books as a young
teen were big on the Idea of distance and wisdom,
Alcohol Consumption Drastically reduce your Capacity in these respects, so if you drink Ale (as we call it here, alcohol if you are confused)
expect a harder time defending yourself...
If someone pulls a knife, run run or Improvise then run...
As for the Gun situation, the nearest I have been to "your" gun culture is
through Copious amounts of films, so I don't feel equipped to ansa,
when i was heavily amongst the wrong crowd here, I have handled a handgun
(we do have them~highly illegal, and short on ammo unless you have serious gangster type connections),
but would not want one because I know I have a very bad temper.
So, I remember seeing a black and white pic of Bruce going wide on corners, and looking alert, Sorry again for the Corniness

I've actually got a bright orange "rape whistle" amongst other things in my EDC "murse."

Reach advantage, good quality and comfortable. You can fight just about anyone with this, and a guy with a knife will think twice. Knifes cut meat, this breaks bones.
Even bigger guys that have reach advantage on you won't be sure on fighting you - after all you are still holding a metal pipe in your hand.
Damn, this really looks better suited for an unreported self defense situation than a knife. I carry a SOG Aegis but I don't realistically see myself using it for self defense unless it was absolute life or death. Aside from the legality of using a knife for self defense in most places, I think it's also harder to "get away with" using a knife whereas with a baton it seems less likely to implicate the user.

Apparently ive posted in this thread before, but Im willing to bet I said I dont carry any weapons on me.

Nothings changed.

I can turn mean real quick though. I never go out looking for trouble, never really liked to fight to be honest with you either.

But I am good at it.
