Traditional Cretan Knives
Hello everyone, you may remember me from another thread i posted regarding fencing. In any case my mother is corinthian and my father is cretan (the biggest greek island). I am going to Crete for holidays pretty soon and i asked my father if he could buy me a knife for the sake of having a knife (self defense, gutting a fish, peeling an apple) pretty much a multi purpose knife but more importantly i wanted something that could hold a sentimental value and i thought a knife would be perfect for me from my father
Then he let me in on some information that i had not known before, he told me that cretan knives are world famous and extremely historical. I have found one website that sells cretan knives (cretanknife.com) but it seems like a commercial dealer
in any case my question......Has any one ever heard of cretan knives? Does any one have any information on them? i would love to learn more about them
