Ruger Mini-14

Anyone here have one? I've got a brushed SS, with woodstock and peep sights in .223.
It's a great little weapon, very accurate. I was thinking of changing to a more tactical stock, any suggestions?

I have a Choate stock on my 870 that I love, I beleive they make a folding synthetic stock for the mini-14. Lots of manufacturers offer options as well, Ram-Line and Butler Creek are two I know of for sure. What you really need are more 20 round magazines from ruger. Get them while you still can.

Anyone ever shoot a Mini-30? I was wondering how much recoil the 7.62x39 Ruger had, at least compared to an AK or SKS?

Roughly the same. It is the same round!

the only thing that will effect the recoil now is the gas cylinder and the gas blow back on the firearm. I am not sure with the Mini 30, but I have shot AK-47's and SKS's.

same round , the only thing that may make a diff is the weight of the guns. I bet the mini 30 with its plastic stock has more kick.
