Ruger GP100 or Smith & Wesson 686

I have been comming onto this board for a long time now but have never come to the weapons forum for some reason. I am looking to purcahse a .357 revolver in canada and am torn between the two staples in the market. It seems to have people divided on other forums i go to. Was wondering if anyone on here has used both and if so which they prefer and why. Just as a not since i am purchasing it in canada the barrel length must be at least 5".

They're both good guns, I would say pick whichever one feels better in your hand. If possible, shoot both of them and then make your decision.

You should try both before you buy them.

My personal choice would be the 686

The S&W will have a better trigger and a nicer finish, but the Ruger is a tank and is made to last.

Try both out at a range and see what feels better to you.
