Pepper spray?

Was thinking about getting my wife some pepper spray for Valentines Day, for those times she can't carry her Kahr 9mm. Does anyone know a good brand? Also I was wondering if you can carry it in your checked luggage on international flights? She's going to France, can she even carry it over there?

I just got a can of the FOX labs OC. It supposedly kicks ass and is the hottest out there. It came in the 2 oz. can. I carry it along with my 9mm incase I have to spray a dog or a dumb ass instead of give them the lead first.

I went with the cone spray because you dont have to aim it like those pee stream ones. But, you do have to make sure of wind cause ive been tagged by residuals from this kinda stuff and it fuckin burns!!!

No I don't think she can. They don't want something that can explode due to pressure and then in turn be something that is going to hurt the baggage handlers.

Back to the topic of OC spray. Go for something that is a fogger type of a foam type. You don't want her to have to use it and need to aim it... Look for some thing in a high SHU (Schovile heat unit) that is the way they measure the heat of the potency of the spray. As for brands, First Defense is a good brand (that’s what we carry in the military) and I know first hand that it works really well (well over 10 training sprays and 30 sprays in the field thru cross contamination). Just tell your wife to take it out of her bag and give it a little shake then point and spray! If I can help with anything else just let me know!

Where the hell do you all live? Your wife carries around a 9mm? I live in fucking Los Angeles right near Compton and I've never felt the need to have a weapon on me.

Mace/Pepper Spray - One 118 ml or 4 Fl. oz. container of mace or pepper spray is permitted in checked baggage provided it is equipped with a safety mechanism to prevent accidental discharge. For more information visit FAA: Home., click on Passengers, then Preparing to Fly.

It's legal to carry a gun in most of the country. Obviously in rural areas you might need one for wild animals. And people.
