I have had several and non are really comfortable. Just get a level 3 A vest for the best protection under a shirt or a level 4 A vest (Entry vest) for best protection.

Level 3a for all around use. Depends on why you need it...If you work in a club as i do we rock from simply level 2 to level 3a alot of guys just wear stab resistent vests. You get cooked in lv 3a's and they are obvious even under a plain black shirt.

www.bulletproofme.com has reasonable prices, a great rep, custom sizing, and good choice of materials /levels. these things are hot, so dont go overkill, get the protection you feel you need. I work nightclub security and have a level 2 goldflex from these guys due any day now.

some random guys review ( not me!) here http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/...d.php?t=140110

check out the bulletproofme FAQ's for tons of info that you can pretty much trust on bullet and stab resistant vests. they say goldflex isnt stab proof, which is true, but I cant stab a well made, spyderco knife with enough force to penetrate there level 2 vests by more than a mm. only in an 'equivilant force' test by seeing how far into a telephone book I can go, but it made my mind up to go for goldflex over kevlar, even though kevlar is longer lasting and has mild ballistic advantages, at a cost in weight and importantly thickness and flexability.

the best ves is the one you wear, and the assailant doesnt notice you have on untill he trys to penetrate it.

galls.com also have good value of the shelf models that are knock offs ( actually from the same factorys) of the big brands like point blank and second chance. if I was buying off the shelf, they would be a top choice for me.
