Need Help Finding The Name Of A Weapon

I need help finding the name of a weapon. It is a leather strap that wraps around your hand and connects with a button and on the top of the strap is small little ****l spikes. Ive seen them used in katas and weapon demonstrations before. I cant find the name of them for anything and ive been searching the net for some time. I might have heard them called Bear Claws or Tiger Claws before??? Please help me as its starting to piss me off!!!!

Thanks!

I could only find them called "spiked hand wraps." If you're talking about the climbing claws that ninjas supposedly wore, I think they're called "shuko."

Or "Shuto", though both could be correct since many Japanese words are Anglicized with two or more spellings. If memory serves, they were designed primarily as a tool for climbing, which used together with a similar contrivance worn on the foot, were used by ninjas to get better purchase on the face of a sheer surface for climbing. While not necessarily weapons, I think they could be pressed into use in a pinch to add damage to hand strikes and maybe offer a modicum of use as a defensive measure against edged weapons. Though I'm not sure...few subjects are as obscured, skewed by, or clouded in both truth and fiction by bullshit than the weapons, skills and talents of feudal Japans' ninja clans./

I've also heard of a weapon called Bangh Nakh, meaning "Tiger's Claws" or "Cat's claws." I think they were configured with the claws set in an overhand position and used primarily as a weapon, unlike the shuto. Too bad I can't sure of the spelling or find a decent pic.

These are not them though they are very similar.

It would be just like these without the wrist strap. They only have the palm strap and the spikes would be alot shorter. If it helps my dad used to used them in katas and his style is Shorei-Ryu which is Okinawan Karate.

I trained in karate for 6 years and I never heard of anything like that. Most Okinawan weapons were derived from some sort of readly accessible farming implement, so maybe you should start your search there. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I did come across an Okinawan weapon called a tekko. It's like their version of brass knuckles, but it didn't really sound like what you were describing.
