John Woo Style

I'm happy with the weaver stance and my 1911. I was just curious if there has ever been a two gun "cowboy" style formally taught for tactical situations.Yeah I know it's a funny question, but I was just wondering if there has ever been anything legit taught or written on the subject, or just some Rex Kwon Do type dude selling snake oil y'know?

Thanks

#1 You butchered that quote
#2 I really don't think anyone can effectively handle two firearms at the same time
#3 Why would anyone even want/need to?

Just curious. Being that many film makers try to take elements real world tactics to make movies feel "authentic", I alway wondered if someone tried to take elements from film into the real world in order to be hip. I was curious if the quest to be cool ever led to anything effective in real life. or at least an attempt at it. I was eager to see if there would be links to funny outlandish videos or at least some funny stories.

As far as your #3 goes, for me personally if I had to make my last stand, why not with 2 guns. Not tactically sound but hey.

A few years back...well more than a few...I attended an advanced pistol course at Chapmans Academy in Columbia Missouri and Ray Chapman was carrying a brace of Berretta 92's. We asked during a break if he could do any trick shots using two guns and once and he just laughed. Given that he could make some REALLY amazing shots from some unorthodox positions that pretty much told me that Wire-Fu pistolcraft all depends on the necessity of the ****** and not anything to do with reality. The extra 92 was carried in lieu of a spare magazine incidentally.

Simple issues such as grip tightness & incorrect trigger pull can drastically effect your round placement. I don't think anyone could ever find themselves needing two firearms unless its a backup in a leg strap should your main firearm stovepipe a round.

If you ever feel you may need more than one firearm, double ( or triple ) up on rounds and get an appropriate firearm with cartridge capacity

I disagree with this statement; I don't believe that filmmakers give a shit about what works in the real world, by and large.

Example: Every fricking semi-automatic in "film land" gets racked just before some doofus goes into a dangerous situation...regardless of whether he is a cop or what. This is simply Hollywood stupidity; in these situations, the dude would have one in the pipe.

John Woo has been saving lives in gangland shootouts for years. None of that shit works, but it looks cool in the movies and so, kids do it.
