Will you be carrying it or leaving it at home?

Heckler & Koch USP .45 was my choice for my first handgun.

SpringField Armory just came out with a new XDM in a .40 caliber. It's a bigger gun but is said to have relatively lower recoil and can hold 16 rounds which is a lot for a .40

match components are fun....but the length isn't meant for CC..

if you are talking about concealed carry...anything under 4" is the way to go....
I prefer the Kimber Ultra carry 2 pro.

The XD sub .40 is nice as well..

its not that a full size or tactical model isn't capable in this situation...but cqc situations tend to be 10 feet or less....no need for the added length....get something you will be comfortable carrying everyday......a self defense weapon is useless if you leave it at home because its cumbersome.

We already know you're anti-gun, so don't even bother posting in here.

Kimbers are nice as hell....a bit too rich for my blood.

Kel-Tec has a 9mm that's holds 9 shots plus one in the chamber. I think it's over all length is about 3 inches. Smaller guns like that have less accuracy though.

Kahr has some good concealed carry guns as well.

Are you looking to get a ****l framed gun or a polymer gun?

Taurus has the Millennium-Pro model that you can get chambered in .32ACP, .380ACP, 9mm, .40 cal, or a .45 cal. They're relatively small guns but the smaller chambered rounds have low recoil. MSRP's about 400 bucks. I'm sure you can find them for about 320 or so.
