And Dog Brothers is great for stickfighting but it requires a solid base in another FMA to fully appreciate the techniques they demonstrate. Their tapes aren't good for a beginner. The Shivworks tapes look like a knife defense tape not FMA.

Would +1 on the "Kali Means to Scrape" ideas.
Would +1/2 on the note about DBs vids. The first one, largely on power, has some great stuff for beginners (assuming you are looking for the martial rather than art portions of FMA). The other half I agree here with Halls- some of their tapes are incomplete due to minimal coverage of the empty hand stuff.
The Shivworks tapes focus on blade stuff, but are largely rooted in FMA ideas (Pekiti and others). Would note here too though that they are more combatively focused than having the whole of the art. They do cover some empty hand ground that's important.
Included Steve Grody's tapes because his empty hand Filipino stuff (thru Dan Inosanto, Edgar Sulite, Vunak, DBs...) is awesome. Speaking of Edgar- his tapes are great too, mostly stick- the vids were directed by Grody.
