Bullet Button Mag-Lock Kit, will make the a 10 shot mag lock in to california requirments...
buy a lower receiver having it shipped or pick it up from your local gun show, pick it up 10 days later from your local ffl dealer you had it send to. you must then buy a lower receiver kit, stock, 10 round mag, bullet button, and a complete upper, and you now have yourself an ar-15
as for your kel-tec that is interchangeable with all AR-15 accessories, your saying you can put a 4 possition collapsable stock on your kel-tec? you can change out your supper cool split handguard/bipod and put something useful there like a rail system for a pistol grip, laser, flashlight?? your kel-tec has match grade barrels??

What do you want the rifle to do? A Ruger Mini 14 is an ok plinker/bunny duster, but it's not a serious rifle. If you sign up for the carbine class at Gunsite, they will make all sorts of noise if you try and show up with one - they never make it through the class.
The CA legal AR's seem like a waste of time to me too, unless you're looking to use one in some sort of competition.
Why don't you look at a CA legal Yugo SKS? Sure, not as sexy as and M4, but a pretty good shooter for the money. It's heavy, and not as accurate as the AR platform, but they are reliable, inexpensive, and shoot better than most riflemen can when not sitting at the bench (which is a ***goty way to shoot a rifle anyway).

ca legal ars and aks, lock the mag in at the range, the range gets pissed if you shoot to fast anyway, when you get out in the sticks, unlock your 10 rounder, and use the 30 rounders.
sks is probally the best bang for your buck, the top loading ability is faster than loading a california legal ak or ar, when you have the mag locked.
if you sign up for gunsite your signing up with an ar-15, not an ak/sks, not a mini14/30, and for sure not with a kel-tec

I'm not quite sure what you're saying, but I was referring to the fixed magazine SKS rifles. They can be loaded from stripper clips, which is very fast.
I left CA 5 years ago, and am no longer encumbered by the silly regulations, but if I were, I would look at an SKS if I wanted a reliable carbine. A Marlin Lever action in .44 Mag would be a good CA legal carbine also. It's easy to mount an Aimpoint sight on one and that makes a great, handy rifle.

I already have a Yugo SKS, Rem 700, Moss 500, Rem 870, and an XD-45. I am just a sucker for the beauty of an ar! But yeah sks is bang for my buck and rugged. I like the Bushmaster carbon 15, but carbon fiber ars make me nervous. I would rather have regular ****l.

Yes, You can do all of those. I will try to find some pics of modified kel-Tecs for proof.

throwing a rail on and a 30 round mag. does not make a kel-tec by any means compairable to an ar in anyway..
like you provocateur most kel-tec owners attempt to compare thier rifles to ar-15, it kinda makes me laugh, most ar-15 owners don't try to compare thier rifle to the kel-tec because they really don't care knowing which is really a better rifle. if kel-tec was to be so great as you make it out to be why is it out sold by ar-15? why do more people own aks, mini 14s?
why does the millitary drop thier silly m4 and m16 and get the kel-tec?

Those are the only pictures I could find quickly but I have seen pics with the stock and barrel options you speak of. I am not going to spend hours trying to find pics to prove it to you but feel free to go to a Kel-Tec gun dealer and ask.

That is a ridiculous arguement. Both guns use the same clips, ammo, and interchangeable parts so how is that not "comparable"? Both guns can use all the same upgrades and shoot the same bullets and the Kel-Tec can use AR-15 upgrades, yet the aren't compareable?
FAIL

I NEVER said Kel-Tecs were better than AR-15s. I simply said they're comparable and as close as you can get in California. If I lived in another state I would buy an AR-15. Your reasoning of ARs outselling Kel-Tec doesn't make any sense. We are talking about CA here and AR-15 does NOT outsell Kel-Tec in CA. If you want to use that arguement then you might as well say AK-47 is the best because they outsell all other assault rifles worldwide....But as I stated it doesn't make sense because we are talking about CA, where both AR-15s and Ak-47s are illegal.
