Brass Knuckles ? Why not "brass shins" too ?
I was thinking the other day how good a self defense weapon "brass shins" would be, something like a slip-on shin guard, padded on one side (leg side) with a ****l plate (ridged maybe) on the other running along the shin bone. The muay thai low kick is pretty devasating as is, but this would only to enhance it.
What am I missing here ?

Maybe lugging the thing around 24/7 until you have to use it?

Would you want to wear it at all times?
If not, then what would you want to do with it. It's not like you could say wait, let me put on my brass shin guard.
It would be uncomfortable to wear on a continous basis I would surmise, so to me it would be pretty useless.
That's just my view on it.

didn't shredder from TMNT effectivly have spiked ones of these :p
cool for movies, not that practical for combat, and illegal for the street. I suppose flat ones could be fairly concelable, but even so, not practical.

I'm sure the Thais used that in their army back in the day.
You could make them lightweight, breathable, and with spikes.
I'd like to see spiked knees. That'd make the long knee deadly. Spiked/sharpened elbows would be badass too.

Why go through all that trouble? Number 1 brass knuckles or brass "shins" are/would be illegal, and if anyone put any of that trash on against me I'd stab or shoot their stupid selves.
You guys do realize that brass knuckles are considered a concealed/deadly weapon, and that if you put them on trying to fight someone then the other person has 110% right to shoot and kill you. Bad idea.

Congrats, you invented greaves: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greave
Known by dozens of other names, depending on the culture/country of origin.

so. are brass knuckles illegal and guns are? That's the vibe I'm getting from you. That's gay.
either way, you have to agree, without a gun, brass shins would be kickass.
