Next year I turn 21, and I plan to get a concealed carry license. It's as simple as that. Mug me, and your life is probably over.

What a brilliant observation! Gee, maybe I should draw mine next time I'm in a violent encounter. That would be more effective than just leaving it holstered.

Thanks again...

yea... like someone who has a gun pulled on you is going to let you draw your weapon.. What's going to be faster? His finger or you arm pulling a gun out of your holster, aiming it and then firing?

Because of course the only violent situation that could ever POSSIBLY occur in your life is the one you described...right...

you are getting mugged. USUALLY it means that someone has a weapon pulled on you (usually a gun) and is aming at you. Don't try to play cowboy. You think it's easy to shoot someone? YOu think its easy to kill someone even if your life is in danger?

a gun, knife, or any weapon is useless unless you have hours and hours of trainging given to you by professionals. You need to train pulling out and shooting like throwing a puch after you have boxed for months. Its the training. Shit cops have trouble shooting people who have a gun on them.

First of all, you're making incredibly gross generalizations. You seem to have a preconceived idea of a very specific type of robbery as the only violent crime one might ever find himself a victim of.

Second, while I agree every person who carries a weapon should have training:

This was the woman's first time using a gun.

Do you have some vendetta against guns or something?

lol, I see your point, but bad example, according to the article the attacker didn't have a gun...

The point is an untrained woman was able to
A) Overcome any phsychological barriers to shooting someone and
B) Do so accurately.

The fact that the would-be robber was unarmed is academic.
