Tasers ... I'd rather taze a woman than struggle with her and look like a tard or heaven forbid, punch her in the grill.

It's not only advised but authorized for anyone resisting; I think because it sorta takes out the possibility of them wresting his firearm away or him dropping it.

Even though everyone says it sucks to be tazed, it doesn't usually have lasting effects and is very effective.

Regarding the knives ... I believe it's good to train for that eventuality but you sure need to get in your gourd that you're prolly gonna get cut if the guy closes the distance on you, whether you elect to run or not.

Pick up the knife at a distance and hopefully get your sidearm(or taser) out well before he gets inside 20 feet.

It's all very well to train for knife disarming, and you may well become quite good at it. But, remembering that in a real life situation, one mistake might = DEATH, I would also advise training to be able to run away very fast.

You are going to get cut. That's it. After you accept that it isn't too bad adn you don't feel it when it's happening. Just protect your vitals and close the distance as quick as you can.

Obvioiusly a knife is a pretty limited range weapon. If you can get a stick you can fend them off long enough to run. If you can get a antennae from a car, and whip them with it, it will cut their face up like a razor.

I fended off the one guy (a mexican) with a pair of battery jumper cables. Actually whipped his fucking ass 1/2 to death with them and ended up chasing him for about 1/2 a block whipping his back with them. Worked out pretty good.

Nice! A bit of old school wisdom there on self defense in the street. My father and his brothers routinely defended themselves against street thugs in Baltimore during the 60s with car antenna's.

Nothing you want to play around with. Unfortunately most cars these days are not equiped with antennas like the old days.
