Ive wasted too much time messing around with this thing but its now dialed in. It was shooting a bit left out of the box but after the handy dandy AK 47 windage tool arrived, it shoots dead-center. It regularly hits at 3inch groups or less at 100 yards, even with wolf black box. Im curious to see what it can do with some good American stuff.
I just have to say having the wolf military classic in 7.62x39 with my 30 round magazines, this thing is a load to deal with for sure. I would not want to be on the recieving end of this one. With 3 inch groups at 100 yards, even with shitty comblock ammo, this thing will also make a great hunting rifle as I never shot anything over 100 yards anyway and dont plan to in the future. Im not in Wyoming were 300 yard shots are neccessary.
I also have to say the terminal ballistics on a 7.62x39 wolf mc dominate the hell out of the 5.56. The knock is the AK isnt accurate, I think 3 inch groups at 100 yards are plenty good enough to tear shit up nicely even out to 200 yards. I dont have a 200 yard range so cant say fer sure but would guess I could hit 6-7 inch groups at that range, plenty for taking down most animals.
Anyhow, I got this puppy and dremmeled off the lame muzzle nut that was tac welded on or whatever. Then, I put the slant brake on. I took off the furniture and stripped in with BLIX or whatever than stained it with minwax sedona red. Topped it off with satin polyurethane. Im happy as hell with this piece now. If anyone cares to see the before pix its on page 15 or something of the show your shit thread.
ITs little sidekick, the G19, now has the speer gold dot +P 124grains in it and it feels adequete though I at times wish I had of gone with the G23. Only thing im missing is the shotgun, which im fixin on getting later this year.
