he has decent striking by mma standards but it wouldn't work in boxing. if he throws that same looping punch against wlad he'll get KTFO quick. arlovski was countering him and making him move backwards with his boxing. wlad's boxing is about 100x better than arlovski's and in a boxing match against wlad i just can't see fedor having any chance at all.
just becos you know how to box doesn't mean you can just step into a boxing ring and succeed. it takes yrs and yrs to polish those hands. also yes its a punching sport but theres more to it than just punching. you have to learn all the basics (footwork, head movement, defense, jab etc.) if you want to make it in boxing. its a simple art but with lots of details. everyone can throw a punch but not everyone can be a boxer.
don't get me wrong fedor is one heck of a fighter and i'm a fan, a huge fan i might add. however i don't lend my fandom blind me to logic.

matter of fact fedor wouldn't stand a chance against wlad in a boxing match.
get real.

This is spot on.

you're still missing my point. he has a punchers chance... as in, they circle each other, fedor punches his face ONCE and wins. im not saying he is gonna go in there and beat him for 12 rounds. fedor does understand footwork, head movement, defense, and jabs... in fact, fedor has not been hit flush in the face many times in his career. fedor also does not always throwing looping punches. watch his 3rd fight with nog. again, fedor has a *punchers chance* as in he could land ONE punch that could end the fight. that's what punchers chance means. in no way, shape, or form could fedor outbox him. it would have to be a one punch ko.
i say Wlad has about the same in MMA, because fedor would not stand with him even for a second. he would instantly take him to the ground, so Wlad would have the split second before fedor clinches and throws him savagely to the ground, to deliver the one punch knock out blow.
i think im being pretty reasonable here.

Wlad by murder.
I think an interesting matchup would be John Ruiz v.s Fedor in a boxing match.

man fuck those idiots..
of course fedor has a punching chance.. and sure that chance would be small one.. like 5% or something.. but whats the chance that wlad would beat fedor? like 0.2% if he hits him in the face the first 5 sec. of the fight

no. fedor doesn't have a puncher's chance.
first off fedor has never been a KO artist and second of all altho wlad has a suspect chin hes never been flush KO'd and heavyweight boxers hit alot harder than fedor. heavy punchers rahman and sam peter couldn't even KO him. fedor certainly isn't KO'ing him.
fedor always throws looping punches from weird angles. he rarely throws any straights or jabs and those are the most important aspects of boxing. also fedor usually keeps his hands low. wlad would seriously jab him to death.
the striking in mma is alot different than boxing. fedor's striking is strickly designed for mma. like it or not fedor would get lit up by a b-level boxer.
