Agreed. Author either had a thesaurus next to him when he wrote it, or his vocabulary is so immense that he found it difficult to keep it to himself. Typical rule of journalism is to write simple, clear, and concise.

My deduction on the write up was that it was just another Sherdog (anti-anything not UFC article). This site must get a helluva kickback from Zuffa!

Really Luke? You would NEVER find this type of word choice in any other sports article. It's unnecessary.
