Why will Dream Succeed?
For as cool as Dream has been so far, as of right now, I give it a 50/50 chance of still being around in 3 years. Pride folded. Bodog is all but over. IFL has been on life support. A lot of the smaller groups have been swallowed up by the UFC or EliteXC.
It takes a lot more then putting on kickass tournaments to guarantee success. I'm not sure why everyone is so confident that Dream will succeed where so many others have failed. I hope they do succeed, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.
So in your minds, other then just wishful thinking, what makes you think Dream will succeed where so many others have failed?

DREAM is FEG and FEG has the money and the TV deal.
It will be a success.

Pride wouldn't have "failed" if it weren't for the mob scandal.
Pride did very, very well until the scandal. K-1 has been around for a good while, too. There is certainly a niche for DREAM in the Japanese market, just as there was for Pride and HERO'S.
It's a completely different situation than with Bodog or IFL.

Pride was bought out by the UFC which isn't a sign of a failed org. They are selling dvd's for Zuffa right now and are clip material. It was lucrative while it lasted.
Dream will suceed if it gets a high live gate, decent tv/ppv deal, and quality events for dvd's.

It will succeed simply because it does not pretend to be something it is not. No exclusive contracts for the most part. If the fighter wants to test himself elsewhere, he can. Rabid Japanese jans, revenue not soley reliant on PPV buys, (yes, steroids), just simply an a top notch alternative to The UFC and other orgs, Did i say rabid Japanese fans?

That and DREAM is in an entirely different media market. Doesn't the TS get that the main reason that promotions fail here in the states is that they're trying to compete with the UFC for a share of the MMA market? Their fights happen in Japan, they're competing for the Japanese cashflow and the last time that I checked they are pretty much unopposed now that HERO's has been folded by FEG.

I think they have a better chance than one of their competitors based on their name alone. World Victory Road is a pretty retarded name.
