I can understand the people who say that they do not like watching women getting hurt. I respect that. One thing to remember though is that they are doing what they love. People, as far as I know, don't get in the ring against their will. Getting hurt is part of mma. The female fighters that enter the ring are well aware of this.
As far as matches not being entertaining, just like the men, there are incredibly exciting matches and there are snorefests.

my mother was a victim of a violent crime, so perhaps im biased. but ill tell you this, my father would have handled it much better than her. that is one of my main motivations for saying this.

It is no different than Men's MMA. I don't like watching men get hurt anymore than I like watching women get hurt. But MMA is a SPORT, and the fighters are ATHLETES, whether male or female. Fighting is the purest sort of sport, and that is why I like it--whether the competitors are male or female. They are not violent crime victims.

Men are built differently than women. Subsequently, they fight differently than women. Women fight just as hard if not harder than the men. Men tend to be more explosive, while women tend to be more methodical. Of course their are differences between individuals. For example, Ricardo Arona is a very methodical fighter and he is male. Amanda Buckner is a woman, and she is a brawler. I never said women were equally as strong as the men, I do believe they are equally as entertaining in their own way.
There are different styles of wrestling as well. Folkstyle wrestling is about controlling yopur opponent, while Freestyle is about slamming him. Both are entertaining to watch (for me at least), but for slightly different reasons. Diversity is the spice of life.

A lot of you really need to learn what the term "sexist" entails. Because a lot of you think you're not and are. It's not something many of you mean maliciously, but it's there just the same. As is chauvanism. But this has more to do with social trends than anything else.
However I will say this one main point I've been touting:
None of the shit posted in here should matter to female fighters as a seperate gender. If they can get the support of their own gender over the support of males, then it doesn't mean a whole lot. To my knowledge no one has done that yet really. Call it reverse sexism, but if they could garner their financial independence where promotion of their product (whichever Sport) is concerned, then what is literally true would also be economically true. And that is that males have no right to tell females what they can and cannot do. Fight, run, or otherwise.
BTW, for all you people who talk about how NOT entertaining female athletics are, I hope you don't watch any female Olympic events ever either. Development of entertainment value of a Sport takes time. Time for the most gifted athletes walking around to know for certain they can become viable professionals at it and sustain a living. Time also for the less gifted to come upon means of training to compete with the gifted. It's pretty funny to hold a group of people with not much exposure to either to the same standards as a group who has had it for far longer.

I agree with everything you have just said. I don't view them as just some girl who is trying to impress the guys or enter a "man's" sport. I see them as fighter, regardless of sex. I've trained with some girls who showed more heart and tenacity than a lot of guys. They were more willing to fight. I've trained with a lot of pussy guys who will run the second they get hit. What does that tell you? Sure women can't usually compete with men. Big deal. I've trained with some really cool fighters, who happened to be female, who were tough. They were serious about fighting. To me if they want to step in the ring that is their choice and it doesn't matter what anyone else says. I wonder how many of the couch potato mma fans on here would actually get their asses kicked by a female fighter. I never hear any real fighters from my gym criticize them wanting to fight, only people online with nothing better to do. I've seen their warrior spirit and I respect them and I see them only as fighters.

Thank you. I agree as well. I think a lot of those who are opposed to women's MMA have no experience with it, or do not train with women. I don't think they mean to be sexist, I think it is just an attitude difference. A lot of them would soften their attitudes if exposed to the sport and their training. A lot of people feel the same way about MMA in general. I guess I feel it is my duty to educate people to what is out there.
Sorry if I come across as confrontational, I'm not trying to piss anyone off. I'm just trying to understand and resolve any concerns you may have with the sport.

Exactly, everyone is welcome to their own opinions. I do not mind women in MMA. Also to repost what others post in new threads is kinda lame but i do respect the threadstaters opinions.

I'm not a fan of women's boxing(though I have seen a badass knockout by a girl) or women's MMA. It's just not entertaining to me and that should be enough for anyone to accept. Their athletecism, strength, and the way their bodies move is not the same as it is with men. Male athletes are generally rougher and more powerful, which I like to see. I'm not saying that women aren't aggressive or athletic, but they just don't fight the same way men do. That's my cup of tea, you have yours, someone else has their own opinion as well.
To be honest, and I'm not trying to disrespect anyone, but I would rather not see women compete in sports. I like women to be smart, funny, and sexy, not athletes.
