and he's getting this much attention because he's a big draw. keep hating. he marketed himself the right way which any fighter could've done.

regardless what he's known for, he's catapulting mma into the mainstream. elite is on cbs, one of the biggest mainstream channels. kimbo is the biggest draw around the country that's fighting in mma right now and this is going to draw in a lot of casual fans.

Who's hating? I hope Kimbo does well in his fights, I've rooted for him in his 2 previous fights. But you have to admit he hasn't proven anything yet in MMA other than he can KO cans.

MMA would have made it to network TV with or without Kimbo. The problem with Kimbo being hyped so much is that when he faces a quality opponent with any ground game, and loses, EXC is in trouble. I'm looking forward to the Smith/Lawler fight alot more than Kimbo vs the can Thompson, Kimbo is a publicity stunt to me at this point until they put him up against a real opponent.

he might not be a top 10 fighter yet, but what drew casual fans into tyson was not his technical boxing. they wanted to see knockouts. kimbo is providing the same. he's the perfect fighter that will catapult mma into the mainstream.

What if we were to break Charles Manson out of jail (is he still alive???) and then build an org around him!
He'd draw fans from far and wide, everyone knows who Charlie is and this will bring MMA into the mainstream for sure.
Who should his first opponent be?

Tyson was a top 3 HW, Kimbo's not even a top 25 HW. Tyson was immensely popular because he could KO almost anyone, he fought the best and usually won by devastating fashion.

cbs is known, adding kimbo will generate a lot of publicity, attention, and a lot of casual fans into the sport.

But the thing is gsrx. After Kimbo draws in new fans, they will get educated about MMA, than they will learn about the Tito ortizs and the Chuck liddells. Kimbo is gonna help us get new fans first and foremost! But besides all that, Kimbo is exciting!
