I'm not sure tbh, it was never made clear.
Grove out of ZT tourney? - CageWarriors Forum
From the quote on the first page, it seems like he thought he never had anything to prove by entering (as he said Martin Thompson is the second best HW in the UK and he smashed him with ease) but then I don't know why he'd enter it in the first place if that was the case.
He's apparently looking to fight elsewhere instead, possibly Japan.
If he was so confident though, I'm sure he could've came in and romped the tournament (in his own head) and made £15,000. Maybe he thinks he deserves more cash than that for 3 fights or something.
EDIT: Interview here: MMA News | Neil Grove Out of Heavyweight Tournament? | MMAUnltd.com
He's going to be a champion in Japan and then America instead (apparently)

lol, tbh i'm not sure if he does MMA anymore anyway, his past few fights have been cage kickboxing and he's not had an MMA fight in 3 years
i suppose the publicity he's getting in Big Brother might lead him back down that path.. i watched his second fight with Mark Weir the other night and it was a really good battle.. he may be a marmite personality with a huge ego, but i wouldn't mind seeing him back in MMA competition

Well Broughton beat him so youd think he'd want revenge, I read that article and it seems all about the money though.

I know exactly what you were doing, hence the reason I never said anything to YOU, but was speaking to 'glennrod' who even came back and said "point taken" with an embarrassed smiley, so I think it was a perfectly valid point to make.
But... of course, I'm the idiot. Wanker.
