With a successful/entertaining card on free tv, what happens now?

I'm posting this in the heavyweights due to the competition dynamic. Just viewed the Strikeforce card on cbs, and was very, very impressed. 4 great fights and successfully introduced Fedor to the casual fan. With the rumored signing of Dan Henderson, Strikeforce is moving toward, if not already solidifying themselves as a major player in the mma world. I know they're a long running production, but with this successful night, will they truly "compete" with the UFC?.... Is there any chance of them surpassing the ufc?.... As for surpassing, I don't know.... But Competing? What are your thoughts, comments....

i was impressed and thought the show was very professional. I enjoyed the intro quite a bit and was happy to not have to listen to generic rock for 2 hours.

all the fights were great. one of them was even epic. i think a strikeforce title could mean as much as a ufc title soon if they play their cards right. ufc is going to hurt itself by isolating itself from partnerships.

I don't know how successful that card was. The Shields vs Miller fight I think will hurt the ratings. I'd be surprised if a new MMA fan would watch that fight.
