Should YAMMA tourney wins count as wins?

Ok, hear me out.

When Pride had tourneys or GPs they would be full fights, just under tourney format. YAMMA wins can ONLY be at the most one round. Should they get the easy credit on their record because of this dumb format?

does this mean wiuff is on a 3 fight win streak?(i checked his record on FF and the wins are there, that kinda sucks in my eyes)

You have a point. Those 5 minute lay-n-pray barely qualifies as a fight.

But MMA doesn't have a ruling body, so as long as the fight is sanctioned by a state AC, it is counted. Sucks, I know.

But you see, that is why tourny's are so compelling for some fighters: they know someone will walk home with a 3-0 on thier record and only fight 3 rounds to do it. It's hard for some fighters to stay away from that.

Ricco on Inside MMA said that was one of his reasons for fighting, to get that 3-0 in one night. Oh well!

There are three posts before you stating its a valid point within 2 minutes of me posting it. Its obviously a valid discussion. What would you like to talk about thats so important?

i just cant stand that in a 5 minute lnp festival that is a yamma bout, these fighters are getting 3 wins on their record for doing no work

For TUF they were doing 2x5min rounds and said they were 'amateur' fights. They were called that so they could keep the results a secret. NSAC makes the results public records. I think 1x5 round sucks. At least do 1x10 minute. I watched some of the fights on Yamma and it just reminded me of KOTC.

Big deal, and it's not like it's a secret how they got those wins...
