Shooto Pacific Rim Middleweight Title: Ronald Jhun vs. K-Taro Nakamura, July 21st!

from http://completevaletudoaccess.blogspot.com :

Quote:
July 21st will prove to be a busy day for Shooto, as not only will there be a show promoted by leading Shooto promoter Sustain at the Korakuen Hall, but it also has been revealed that the first Shooto Pacific Rim Middleweight champion will be decided in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Shooto-affiliated Hawaiian event Punishment in Paradise will host an event in Honolulu on July 21st at the Dole Cannery Ballroom. Promoter Brennan Kamaka has announced that the event will see one of Hawaii's biggest homegrown stars, Ronald "Machine Gun" Jhun of the 808 Fight Factory, compete for the Shooto Pacific Rim Middleweight Championship. Jhun defeated T-BLOOD's Shigetoshi Iwase in January of 2005 and is now ranked second in the Shooto Pacific Rim Middleweight rankings. While his opponent has not been formally announced, sources close the Kamakas have revealed that Jhun's will likely be 2005 Shooto Middleweight Rookie Champion, Keita "K-Taro" Nakamura, who currently ranks seventh in the Shooto Pacific Rim rankings.

I want K-Taro to die. I wonder if Shooto ever noticed dude had a shitload of fights before the rookie tournament and still looked foolish. He's undefeated though so I guess he's doing something right. He should die

Dude, who says you can't be eligible for the rookie tournament if you have half a dozen pro fights?

This fight really is a battle of two styles. If Jhun is careful, I don't see how K-Taro beats him. Jhun will be stronger, more explosive, and will hit much harder. K-Taro has looked SO vulnerable in some fights. But Jhun is the same guy who charged head first into a guillotine from Chris Lytle, and K-Taro CAN finish with subs. Definitely an interesting style match.

Also, hopefully some of the smaller Hawaiians like Newalu can impress, and be brought into Shooto Japan. Americas need more reps below lightweight.
