What the hell?
Crusher has the best shot next to JZ.
The bias against japanese fighters is shown once again

Of course I will.
A) Sick Submission win over someone relatively known in MMA circles (who really followed Aoki in his shooto days before the gogoplata?)
B) Fans who have been made aware of Aoki's win go on the internet and search as many hightlights and ADCC matches of Aoki as possible
C) They all shit their pants and go Aoki crazy.

Thought I'd put your data side by side so it's easier to analyze.
Tatsuya Kawajiri +240.................7%
Shinya Aoki +300.....................28%
Gesias Calvancante +320..........33%
Mitsuhiro Ishida +400.................3%
Andre Dida Amade +500 ............1%
Joachim Hansen +625...............13%
Artur Oumakhanov +900.............0%
Eddie Alvarez +1100...................6%
Luiz Buscape Firmino +1500........0%
Kazuyuki Miyata +1800...............0%
Katsuhiko Nagata +1800.............1%
Kotetsu Boku +1800...................1%
Bu Kyung Jung +2200 ................2%
Kultar Gill +3800........................2%
Field (Any Other fighter) +600.....2%
Kawajiri would be my second pick to win the tournament. I'm going with Ishida. Very surprising that Sherdog gave them very few votes. Also find it interesting that the odds makers have Aoki as more of a favorite than Gesias, when all the other odds I've seen for their individual fight, JZ is the favorite to win. Joachim getting a lot of love from Sherdoggers shows people will vote for fighters they like, even when it's going against the odds. I don't understand the love for Alvarez.

Both of those wins came very early in Gesias's and Gomi's careers. Since then, Joachim has looked decent, but has lost against all the top level competition he has faced, and has also lost to Eiji, who wasn't well known at all before that win.
Hansen is a quality LW, but his competition in this tournament is huge. For him to get 13% of votes is a testament to his drawing power.

The Alvarez votes have been RonnyB and all the other philly sherdoggers constantly voting.
