Reckless Abandon - jason miller vs tim kennedy discussion

i'm gonna have to go with mayhem for this one.

rd 1 - jason throws a couple of kicks, low and high, keneddy gets a td. keneddy moves miller into the fence as miller stays upright. keneddy throws a knee and the ref doesn't like it. ref stands them up. they trade for awhile with tim in the center. they land a couple of shots on each other. some nice exchanges. jason with a nice leg kick.

superman punch with a little combo afterwards from tim, tim clinches and gets around to miller's back. back to clinch. tim with underhooks gets a td but miller gets back up. they continue to clinch. tim backs off. miller with a nice overhand, throws a kick but tim catches it and gets a td, he gets millers back.

miller rolls out tim in side mount. tim gets full mount, now gets miller's back but back to mount, now half guard. he gets miller's back again and tees off as the round closes.

rd 1 for tim IMO

rd 2 - round opens with tim landing some shots. backs miller up to the fence were he clinches with him. he goes for a single but miller stuffs it, tim rolls around and gets to miller's back, tries for choke again, lands some nice punches from the back.

miller controlling the right hand of tim as tim continues to work for the choke. miller rolls into tim's guard. stars working on tim's body a bit. postures up, lands a nice elbow, gets into half guard. miller throws an elbow or two, tim scrambles back to his feet and works for a td.

miller drops down and spins into tim's guard, ref wants to check tim's cut. the crowd boos. doctor examines cut, it's on the bridge of the nose and the fight resumes. another superman attempt, they trade until they end up in the clinch at the fence again.

miller with underhooks tries for a slippery take down, lands a knee to the thead and they scramble to the ground with miller on top as the round ends

rd 2 for miller IMO

rd 3 - round opens with a brief exchange leading to the clinch, leading to a miller td. miller ontop as tim tries to scramble up to his feet. miller remains in guard against the fence and he works the body. miller postures up and ends up in butterfly guard. tim's bleeding all over. miller in half guard working the body.

tim works for a heel hook and miller taunts him as if he couldn't even feel it. miller back in half guard. miller controlling more than damaging. ref wants to check the cut again. doctor wipes the cut, it's not in a bad spot. doc says ok

fight resumes, they exchange in the center until miller clinches against the fence. miller goes for a td but it backfires with tim in side mount. moves to full mount, miller rolls out, tim work for armbar, omoplata. miller gets out and is in guard, working the body.

a minute and a half remains, miller seems to be in the clear as he lands some more body shots from tim's guard. miller postures up and throws some head shots. miller does the double handed guida smash. really just a two handed hammerfist but i like my name better. he's in side control raining blows as the fight closes and he does a flip at the bell.

rd 3 miller

I just watched Kennedy vs McGivern in the IFL, and everyone is talking about Kennedy having great striking but in this fight he threw very very loopy, telegraphed power punches, no jab that I saw. Hell I'm sure they are dynamite if they land but he looked way off the mark... However it's just one fight so I don't know.

I'm leaning toward Mayhem though after earlier thinking Kennedy would win.
