They did something similar when EliteXC had their first event on CBS, they aired a Chuck Liddell special on Spke TV. Yes, it shows they are wary of the competition, but it could hurt them in the end, by messing up their own schedule and rushing to put together events is always risky. It's important to keep track of what your competition is doing, but there is also the theory that one should worry about what they do and do it well and not worry about what the competition is doing. It's a double edged sword, but the fans get more mma, which is always good.

It's called competition.

I hope all of these upstart promotions can take the heat the UFC is dishing out because the UFC wouldn't put on shows like this with this kind of quality unless they had strong competition. As long as promotions can put on Fedor/Tim type of main events the UFC won't try to pull a Bisping/Evans Main event ever again.
