We absolutely must have a FAQ on FeMMA as a sticky. What do you think, derubermensch? All we would need is to expand the information you put a few posts up.

Topics:

1. where to watch it, how to get a hold of it on TV or DVD

2. Dominant orgs

3. Best fighters in each weightclass, at least two or three-lines description of each

4. Up-and-comers, people to watch

4. Best fights in the history of FeMMA (so far)

5. Good fight teams for FeMMAists (e.g., I hear Gina Carano is training at Xtreme Couture)

6. Notable controversies in FeMMA

7. Dream matches

Any other good topics for a FAQ?

^ Nice. add to that Gina/Couture note - Julie Kedzie is at Greg Jacksons Dojo.

Can't wait to see next week's Bodog: Julia Berezikova VS. Julie Kedzie!

I think they're really weaning Julia like Aleks, fighting top fighters right off the bat. I'm thinking Bodog should match her up w/ Finney. - both: are coming off losses, are standup oriented and neither can capitalize on an offensive ground advantage (since it's kinda absent for both).

I think the bodog season 5 thread on the UG a few weeks ago had Berezikova dropping to 125. Can't quite remember, but I think she was rumoured to be fighting either Damm or Sexton.

if the men fought with the reckless abandon that the women fight with MMA would be sooooooo much more fun to watch

The exciting pace of the fights is actually not a gender issue but a size issue. Smaller fights just don't gas the way larger ones do. Just watch an lightweight 155 and down mens bout and you get the same action. With that said Women never have a boring fight.

It would help if a Dutch speaker watched it. It seemed Coenen was dazed and talking to her corner the whole time instead of responding to the ref. She can say what she wants after but her body language during that count showed no intention of going forward. Probably one of many examples during that tourney of fighters and officials not speaking the same language causing trouble.

Sexton taps her, Damm.... jesus, that that would be the warpath. Damm doesn't give a fuck.

That whole tourney was hilariously run by a number of reports.

125 Really? Its not like she needs a further strength advantage rather than more ground training; she was muscling reversals and escapes from LaRosa(for a while anyway). Gotta be Damm, I'm thinking since she lost to Rosie and Julia's still has yet to win. Also, it sure didn't look like Damm was fighting Julia from the new season preview, looked like Bayzler vs. LaRosa and Damm vs. ?(but she throws a sweet spinning backfist).

Are you talking about the Trenton card?

Well, she weighed in well under the weight when she fought larosa, so I wouldn't think 125 would be too much of a drop for her. Although she's pretty tall for that class. She also had a win against some Korean girl in between fighting larosa and kedzie. Not sure what show that was on though.

You might be thinking of season 4, which has already been shot at the same time as season 3, which has Bazler vs LaRosa and Damm vs Molly Helsel (I think).

Seasons 5 and 6 are being shot end of July.
