A few big months ahead for Australian MMA. Next month there is a kickboxing/MMA show with Elvis Sinosic and Tony Bonello facing seperate opponants. Ian Schffa is also on the card and Daniel Dawson is making his long awaited comeback to kickboxing.

In October, there is a massive XFC show scheduled for Brisbane with Frank Shamrock coming in attendance and bringing a fighter to fight a local Australian. The following day the MMA bus will be travelling 2 hours up the mountain to Toowoomba to view the MMA event King Of The Mountain where hte main event will be Adrian Pang taking on Jacob Sidic in a matchup that has been scheduled for one year now and will prove to be one of biggest fights in Australian MMA. The next day is a Martial Arts expo on the Gold Coast.

Perfect time to come up to Qld, to check out 2 mma events, and a expo. Next wkend is Indy as well.

Alrighty people, thought i would update all aussie sherdoggians about the local scene.

Firstly i have started a MMA Australia calendar here: http://www.infinitemma.com/theforum/...ic,6105.0.html

KOTC held a show in Sydney which was very very poorly advertised and a few days before the event i only knew of one matchup and that was a muay thai bout between JWP's wife Angie and Karen Lynch from New Zealand. Angie won via unanimous decision. James Te Huna was victorious over veteran MMA fighter Dave Frendin in a notable MMA matchup. Tony Bonello did not compete.

Got a few massive weeks coming up. XFC is on October 13 and will feature Kyle Noke taking on Frank Shamrocks assistant coach Brian Erbersole from USA. Gonna be a great matchup. Also on the card is the debut of Judo Olympian Ferrid Kheder. The following day, most mma fans will drive an hour up a mountain for King Of the Mountain. The major matchup of this event will be Jacob Sidic who is 18 years old taking on Adrian Pang for the Spartan under 65 Australian title. Adrian wants to add the spartan title to his already Warriors Realm title. Gonna be a corker.

Adrian also has a matchup against Taiyo Nakahara in late November in his Japanese debut. The deal came across as Warriors Realm recently signed to part of the World Wide Cage Network which has some of the best promotions around the world sharing fighters. Will be good to see Aussies flying overseas and having fighters fly in to take on our best.

Also shceduled to fight overseas in October is Ian Schaffa rumoured to be taking on Miyata on Heroes. George Sotiropolous will be participaint in Shooto and Big Jim will fight on a Mars promotion.

Bushido, are you looking for events or clubs to train at?

As far as an events there is nothing in Melbourne at the moment. John Donehue had about 3 mma events in Melbourne before he stopped doing them for a reason unknown. Melbourne does still hold amateur shooto comps which in my opinion are a great way of getting good experience before having your first mma bout.

If your talking about clubs, ill try to get some contacts and get back to you before the wkend.
