I connected my pc to my 40inch LCD in the loungeroom and also ran an 3.5ml audio cable to my receiver and sat back on my couch and watched the card live. The video can be set to full screen and you can also adjust the video quality from low to medium to high. The default setting is medium, and I only found this setting after the card had finished. Spewing!

The video/audio quality was suprisingly good. I had no problems with drop outs at all. I'm on BigPong cable so have a decent quality connection and speed.
It cost approximately $49 bucks after currency conversion. Not bad for those of us that don't have Foxtel or any other means of watching the event live.
You can acces UFC on demand via ufc.com

I've already invited a few mates around to watch UFC 84 next month and will do the whole BBQ and beer thing!
fucking bring me around if u live in brisbane :-) moving there in a month

Haha.
I'm a Melbournian. Sorry!

I've slowly been encouraging family and friends to watch MMA
  • One of my cousins is becoming a fan because he and his wife train Japanese Jiu Jitsu and are interested from the martial arts aspect. I copy a DVD or two every month and post it to them.
  • Three guys at work are at various stages of fandom. One of them has just started watching TUF series 1 (which is apparently on Foxtel ATM)
  • Also one of my best mates had foxtel and I watched a few PPVs at his house and because of that, he has taken an interest too. This mate works at an accounting firm in the city, and one of his female workmates is also a big UFC fan (not MMA in general, she had never heard of Fedor!)
On a semi related topic, it's my 30th birthday party tonight. The venue I've booked has a projector and screen and have allowed me use it during the party. I've made 4 dvds of all my favorite MMA fights and will be playing them on the big screen from start to finish.

I've got a tendency to show ppl BJJ moves or through a low kick here or there when I'm drunk, so it will be interesting to see what the combination of beer and MMA will bring out tonight!

Have a good long weekend all..

I am an Ozzie living overseas. I usually always stickup for the standard of Australian fighters but lately I have hard going doing that. Seems every Ozzie gets knocked out first round. We never have anyone good in K1 either. Is Australia that weak? Losing the spirit for sticking up for Oz like I always have. Feel like just agreeing with everyone that the ozzie will most likely get KOed.

Can anyone convince me otherwise ? Anything to prove Ozzie have what it takes? Other than George from TUF ofcause who still got knocked out in TUF.

The Aussie guys do seem to struggle when they reach the big stage, still I think that will change given time. Ps being critical of your own country folk doesn't make you a fairweather nationalist (whatever the hell that is). IMO it makes you objective and honest. I'm a Kiwi but as I live in Melbourne I always root for the Aussie guys, unless they fight kiwis that is!!!!!!

So, true. I see NZ always producing good fighters so I don't see any excuse for Australia.

Did anyone else manage to catch CFC 3 on Fox Sports during the week? You have to give props to Yunker for fronting on such short notice like that. Lombard is a beast and hopefully he has much success in the States.

The amount of MMA on television right now compared to 2003 – 2006 is ridiculous. After Mainevent canned PPV in 2002, there was literally nothing. Now, a couple of years on and you can’t even steer clear of it throughout the day.

Mate, would have to agree.

Last weekend my boxing mad uncle came by my place for the Calzaghe/B-hop bout and mentioned he'd seen the Lombard/Yunker fight and enjoyed it!!

He knows I've been watching MMA for a few years now and always ragged on it, so I'd never expected to hear those words from his mouth. Just goes to show if they get more MMA on TV here the sport will win new fans...

I was very dissapointed in CFC 3 when I saw it the other day on FOX.

Those commentators need to be shot. Jesus Christ they were bad. I would do a better job as I at least have some form of broadcasting experience.

The fights were alright, but Perosh didn't look very good at all. He has such a terrible shot and his stand up is just dog.

I have to say it was better than ... Xplosion? i think it was called. They had 3 rounds of kickboxing, muay thai and then MMA. It was terrible man. You were only allowed 30 seconds on the ground in the MMA round and one fighter had locked up an arm bar and the ref stood em up. It was fucked up.

RIP Brad Morris.
