cause, cause...Strikeforce is the good guys, right!
UFC paying out money in bonuses is not a revelation. They've been doing so for sometime and have mentioned that fact several times as well.

For the UFC to have such a market share and to be paying fighters a couple thousand (undercard fights) is ridiculous in regards to how much the UFC brings in from the events. Add that to the fact that UFC fighters don't get anything for video game/dvd sales unlike every sport that UFC strives to be classified with (NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA) and you have some shady shit going down.

UFC Paying Out Estimated Average Of 8.8% Of Revenues To Fighters

Do the fighters pay anything for the UFC to market them? Do the fighters pay the bill for the stadium, the advertising, the set up, travel, PR?

I'm fine with the UFC getting the bigger chunk of the pay. It gives them money to deal with the little shit organizations like Strikefarce...keeping them minor league so that we fans can know for certain where the real talent is.

But don't fret, the named fighters still make millions before they even calculate in the income from sponsors for fighting in the ufc.

such a hard life, that of a fighter...

Yet the numbers still pale in comparison to the nation's other main combat sport, boxing. Largely due to the work ZUFFA is doing to lobby Congress not to assure fair contracts for fighters as the Ali Act does in boxing.

"Inclusion of the UFC under the two aforementioned boxing reform acts would basically turn the standard UFC fighter contract on it’s ear. The standard UFC contract is largely seen as one-sided, favoring the corporation to an almost draconian degree."

UFC Hires Washington Lobbying Firm : MMAPayout.com: The Business of MMA

P.S. Don King lobbied against the Ali Act as well.

do you watch for the travel, the pr, the stadium? do you pay for a ppv so you can see the set up, or so the ads before the next event are as good as they were for this one?
