Miku Matsumoto Addresses Decision To Retire (In English)

A few people here saw Miku's blog post from earlier today in Japanese, but Roxanne Modafferi has translated it into English. Those wanting a bit more information on Miku's decision to retire a couple of days ago can check it out.

She doesn't go into a lot of detail regarding what resulted in her loss of desire to compete, but this is quite a bit more insightful than the brief speech that she gave to the audience at the DEEP show on Sunday.

yeah, it's definitely appreciated.

and this is only tangentially related, but it's pretty frustrating not being able to leave comments in english on japanese fighters' blogs.

She says she been training only to make herself stronger, or something like that. I think one of the main reasons is she doesn't see the Fujii fight, or another top fight to get her motivated happening anytime soon, so she's got nothing to really train for, no motivation. She's already avenged her losses, what more is their to train for? If their was a big fight that had a real possibility of happening, or Strikeforce starting up say a 115lb division their's no fucking way she would retire, I think.

What would be next? A 500th fight with Misaki Takimoto? We know the Fujii fight sure as shit ain't happening. The politic's of Japanese womans mma drives me fucking nuts. The fights are their to make, but they just refuse to make them.
