Is Lashley ready for Frye?

According to the cover story:

http://www.sherdog.com/news/articles...7-july-3-18333

Quote:
Lashley, who trains with American Top Team, told the Sherdog Radio Network’s “Beatdown” show he wants to fight twice more in 2009, with the next bout in late August or September. MMA pioneer Don Frye told Fight Network Radio he’s in negotiations to fight Lashley, who revealed plans earlier this year to compete inside the Florida-based Extreme Fighting Championship promotion in September.
Do you all think that Lashley is ready for Frye at this point in his career? Although Frye is old, he is still pretty active and seems to be in pretty good shape. I don't know, seems like a step up in competition. I haven't watched many Lashley fights and didn't get much from his win against Bob Sapp. Sapp didn't seem to have any answer when the fight hit the ground.

I really doubt Don Frye could stop Lashley from taking him down for very long, and it's not like he's got the terrifying 1 shot power to stop him from trying. I think Lashley would handily beat Don Frye just now, and I'm not one for over-exaggerating his abilities.

If he can some how get past Frye, I hope his last fight of the year is at an Affliction or Strikeforce event. I wonder how he compares to Brock Athletically. Haha, I know that Brock is, "Built Like a Black man", so maybe they're aren't too far off.

I get that Lashley is trying the build himself from the ground up and progress and develop as a fighter before hitting the big time, but his choice of opponents are certainly a little odd and questionable. It's like he's just angling for publicity and name at any cost. Honestly wouldn't be surprised to see Lashley v. HMC or Canseco or Butterbean or Ken Shamrock next.

I love Don Frye, but I don't think he stands much of a chance against Lashley in his current state.

If I was coaching Frye for this fight, I would focus on only 2 things: conditioning and catch-wrestling/bjj.

If Frye were to really up his submission game, I could see him catching Lashlely off his back. But if he doesn't, I see the younger and stronger wrestler winning this match.

Did any of you see Frye vs Thompson? Lashley might actually kill him.
