somewhat agreed, but i had to agree to some silly rules to get them to agree to the fight. i wanted an old school Vale Tudo fight, but they demanded special rules to protect their fighter. they asked for no groundfighting (because i had a lot more jiujitsu than him and it would have made for a short fight) and asked to ban kicks (kicks were stictly defined as striking with shin or foot, knees were OK.)
its fair to say that he was aware of this, as he was the first one to start throwing the knees - several nasty shots straight to the groin as soon as he started losing. which was fine - groin strikes were legal. i wish i had remembered to ask for a rule against that the only actual rules violatons in the fight was Kimbo's illegal Gnp (breaking a rule they had asked for!) and the repeated interference by his crew rescuing him every time i was trying to finish him off.
i agree completely, and if you (the fans) keep asking for it, they'll have to make it happen. i plan to beat kimbo the same way i beat him the first time...by training harder than he does. he has improved a lot since then, so it may take me 3-4 minutes to lock in a solid sub instead of the 45 seconds it took me the the first time

When this thread started I was thinking "you people are still beating this horse? its obviously dead.."
but hearing the rule clarification and that this fight is being considered has made it worthwhile

I didnt come out with the whole "my dad is tougher than your dad" angle. you must be confused. YOU started the thread.
If you'd like to discuss the fight you posted, then ill admit, YES, Kimbo lost. Yes, there were some shady rules. But its OLD. Why bring it up? Seriously tho, think about it LONG and HARD. If youre NOT just trying to be a hater, then Why bring it up?

I was going to read this post but then I realized the author of it hasn't done anything in MMA and so he pretty much just wasted his time writing all that up on an MMA discussion board.

Wow big deal, Gannon who had been training MMA for many years cheated and used guillotine chokes in order to beat the inexperienced Kimbo.. But yeah Kimbo lost that fight - if they fought now though... Kimbo would kill Gannon

Kinda looked like he got knocked down by a punch and grabbed his legs to stop from falling, either way he can't and shouldn't have whined about it.

i think Gannon made a bad choice going for that choke. if he had tried to push Kimbo off. he mightve been able to knock him out
