Florianvs Karalexis in 2005 is the last I can remember. There are a few that possibly should have been stopped, but that is the last stoppage due to cut that I can remember that was caused by an elbow. Not a valid number to say that elbows cause too many fights to be ended by cuts

The last stoppage due to a cut caused by an elbow was Stevenson-Edwards at UFC 61 back in July of 2006. It's been nearly two years since the last time an elbow caused a fight-ending cut.

Also, you mentioned the Florian-Karalexis cut stoppage, but that one doesn't really count anyway since most people seem to be in favor of standing elbows. Both of Florian's cut stoppages (Leben & Karalexis) have come via standing Muay Thai elbows rather than the short ground & pound elbows that anti-elbow crowd loathes.

That cut was caused by a big knee to the dome from the Thai clinch. It was almost identical to the way Vitor Belfort opened up the giant vagina in Marvin Eastman's head.

Are you serious? Elbows are stronger than punches if thrown right. Especially if you're mounted on the other guy, imagine some GnP elbows. Thats insanely powerful..

Your point is noted and taken. I should say that the fights I thought would go one way went the opposite because of an elbow. And I should have qualified my argument by admitting that elbows while in the guard and while ones opponent is pinned on the ground, do some pretty good damage. Its when i see an elbow thrown by someone standing up, that was clearly not meant to knock someone down or out, and was only meant as a means to cause blood-flow, that I get really pissed. Especially when they are thrown by a certain cocky, gangly, fighter that I cannot stand. I guess thats the point I was making. And you are right...I certainly was talking out of my ass.
