Josh Gross' Fedor Top5 Threats List.

SI.com readers weigh in on MMA's most crucial stretch of the year - Josh Gross - SI.com

There's also a thread going around about Gross' inclusion of Silva on it and his assertion that Silva would take it 3/10 times here:

Josh Gross: Anderson over Fedor in 3 out of 10!!!

Gross' list of the top five threats to Fedor are

1. Josh Barnett
2. Andrei Arlovski
3. Randy Couture
4. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira
5. Anderson Silva

What do you guys think of this? I can sort of understand putting Anderson on it but In my opinion he overlooks the LHW division. Call me crazy but if he thinks Anderson has a chance by keeping it on the feet and puts Couture in at number 3 I'd probably say Lidell should be on there. His TD defense is better than Anderson's and unlike Anderson or Couture (who win a lot of their fights in the clinch where Fedor is probably better than them), Chuck likes to stay on the outside and is generally very good keeping his opponents from getting in too close. I'm definately not saying that Chuck would win (or that he's the no.1 threat out there to Fedor) and would indeed pick Fedor over him but I'd say he's got a better shot than a lot of people would think.

What other people would you put on the list?

decent list, nog already lost twice so i dont see him as a threat, but i guess when your listing top 5, he might as well go in there because nobody else would come close

Yea, to totally leapfrog the best division in MMA is a bit stupid. Most agree Liddell would be a good fight for Fedor. What of Machida?

And why on Earth is Big Nog on this list? Honestly now. That's like saying Rampage's biggest threats include Liddell, Liddell's biggest threats include Couture and Ortiz, and Wanderlei's biggest threat is Rampage.

Josh Gross is really hit or miss.

Liddell has great takedown defence? Maybe against shoots, but not against Judo throws, Sambo trips and clinches.

Greatest threat to Fedor is Arlovksi. Both are Sambo practitioners and Arlovski is the only one I see catching Fedor in the standup.

Liddell would get raped. He is not a good matchup vs Fedor. Quit believing what the idiot says.

Fedor could never do anything to the "elusive" Machida.

Machida by 1.2 seconds in the 100M dash.

Fedor's greatest threat is Brock Lesnar. In fact Lesnar is the reason why Fedor didn't sign with the UFC.

I dont have a problem with Silva on the list at all. Silva is that fucking good....Im not saying he beats Fedor but Silva is as good as any LWH out there and wouldn't give up that much size to Fedor. I mean Couture was a LWH champ and is now #2/3 HW in the world and isn't that much bigger than Silva who is amazing. Size isn't as important as everyone thinks at these higher weights...Fedor proves it at HW, as does Randy, Henderson proved it at LWH. Don't think for a second Silva wouldnt be dangerous at HW. He would be incredibly fast.

I think speed should be looked at as a possibility of beating Fedor. By default I have to get Barnett off of #1 since Arlovski poses the biggest threat style wise(Hes fast). Nog needs to get off the list he already lost twice.
