Jake Shields vs UFC fighters

Just finished watching Shields vs Miller. Shields didn't want any part of the standup with Miller, and he would often lay on Miller after sealing a takedown for long periods of time. Don't get me wrong, Shields is a very talented BJJ fighter, but I don't see him beating a top 5 WW in the UFC, let alone at MW.
There has been a lot of talk in the past few months of how Shields should come to the UFC because GSP has no other challenges. I think the talk of this will die down after seeing this fight. GSP would and will tear him a new one should this fight ever happen.
Thoughts??

at 170 he's the only guy currently who could beat GSP. At 185 he's top ten

i see him losing to any top 10 WW in the UFC. he didn't look to big tonight though, i think he would do okay in LW.

GSP would make him look like an amateur. He'd have no hope at all at 185.

How does a win over a top MW opponent affect his credibility as a top WW?

I think Shields is a monster at WW and MW and would do Phenomenal in the UFC WW division.

FYI last time a top guy like Fitch fought a MW, he was brutaly knocked unconsiouss by Gouveia.

Man, that has all the makings of the biggest snoozefest of 2010...

Or, "the biggest fight in MMA history" according to the way the UFC would market it.
