If CroCop had cut to 205lbs after winning OWGP?

I'm not saying he should make the cut now. Its clear he's not the same fighter mentally, so it would do no good. I know its all hypethetical, but what if he had realized what US MMA is all about, trained for the cage and cut to 205lbs?

I think he would have dominated. Smaller strikers can't bully him. Smaller wrestlers would have a harder time taking him down and a much harder time holding him there. And with his confidence as high as it was at the time he would have come in gunning for guys.

If he had done it I think he would be the 205lb champ in the UFC right now after KOing a TUFer or two, Chuck and maybe Wand again. And we'd be looking at a possible A/ Silva vs. CroCop matchup in the near future. Or a Shogun vs. CroCop. The only one in the division that would cause the same problems for CroCop as the heavies that have been beating him is Forrest. Very big, very strong. But not big and strong enough. The old CroCop kicks his head off late in the first.

Thoughts?

Here are some pics so my thread doesn't phale.

crocop was not having problems in the HW division until after the OWGP. I don't know why he would have gone down in weight.

Since the beginning of his MMA carreer to the OWGP he lost to:

Fedor (#1)
Nog (#2 after brutalizing him for most of the fight)
Kevin Randleman surprise
Mark Hunt split-Decision (Hunt, who should have got knocked out by possibly the best Axe kick ever thrown in MMA)

4 losses. 3 to top ranked guys and Randleman who could have been amazing if he would have got his shit together.

NOTHING in the world could have got him to go to 205 with that record.

I think he wouldve dominated and even will dominate if he goes back

as bad as he looked against Overeem and Kongo, I think Crocop isnt washed up yet I still belive he can come back he broke his ribs, and he got kneed in the balls, well he got his balls crushed must I say, with more than the half of the fight left, so it was too late to say he was going to lose, especially against Overeem, who is on p4p list for weak cardio along with BJ Penn.

I think he can still rise back to the top in HW or LHW even now. Well, that is, if he beat Fedor though, which I think can be tough. But, fedors not human, so he doesnt count

Send a message via AIM to Pakman
why would he need to dominate a smaller weight class, when he did it at HW? =\

His bad performance is mostly depending on two things:
1) His injuries which are normal if you consider all the times he was fighting during a year when he was in PRIDE.. compare him with Fedor if you want look how often Fedor is injured with little things that prevent him from fighting

2) His motivation seems to lack.. maybe he is not hungry enough or he is thinking too much about a possible loss, as he stated already he (sometimes) fears to loose

but its not a size problem or weightclass problem he was fighting big guys before he always found a way out, no the problem is deeper
