I think Young is going to take this one. This is not the kind of opponent you want to have an extremely short training camp for. Kaitlin Young has been working her ass off over in Minnesota.

As much as I am a big fan of Gina's.....only cuz she's hot...I think she will win regardless of how good she fights. For some reason I feel Gary Shaw is a shady guy and may have the fix in place to protect his golden girl. I had that same feeling when Kimbo beat Bo. Anyone else feel the same way???

According to Kaitlin herself she has been intensely trainning for ground and pound ever since her loss to Sara Schniender. I have got to believe Kaitlin has greatly improved her ground game. Gina is going to lose this one.
You got it man. I would also like to see them match Gina up with a game grappler. I've seen alot of holes in her ground game. Holes which a good grappler would take advantage of.

4. Done brutal 'Caveman' conditioning workouts to make sure her cardio and power are at their peak
5. Will have nine weeks to prepare for the fight

In the last six months, Gina Carano has ...

1. Filmed a reality TV gameshow
2. Flown around doing talk shows promoting said gameshow
3. Blown up well over her normal fighting weight
4. Will have two weeks to prepare for the fight due to scheduling conflicts with her TV show

Call me crazy, but I'm thinking Kaitlin might be better prepared for this fight.

Young via face-wrecking headkick
in their respective careers....

Kaitlin Young (4 wins, 1 loss) has faced:

- Sara Schneider (3-0) Young lost by armbar at the beginning of the second round. it was Schneider's second MMA match, and she remains undefeated at 3-0 now.
- Patti Lee (2-1) Young won by KO in under a minute, in both fighters' third fight of the night. it was Patti Lee's first and only night so far in MMA.
- Miesha Tate (1-1) Young won by KO in under a minute in both fighters' second fight of the night. it was Tate's first and only night so far in MMA.
- Suzi Smith (1-1) Young won by KO a little over two minutes in. it was Smith's first MMA match.
- Lindsey Frandrop (0-2) Young won by TKO in what was an MMA debut for both fighters.

Gina Carano (5 wins, 0 losses) has faced:

- Tonya Evinger (6-3) Carano won by rear naked choke in just less than three minutes. Evinger was 5-1 coming into this match.
- Julie Kedzie (9-7) Carano won by decision in the fight of the night. Kedzie was 6-5 coming into the match.
- Elaina Maxwell (2-2) Carano won by decision in Maxwell's second MMA match and Carano's third.
- Rosi Sexton (8-1) Carano won by TKO in the second round against a then undefeated Sexton who was 5-0.
- Leiticia Pestova (0-2) Carano won by KO in under a minute in what was an MMA debut for both fighters.

when it comes to experience, gina is by far more prepared. i'm sure kaitlin is training hard and will be as ready as she can be to jump up a level, but gina is actually training for a month, not two weeks, as you mistakenly said. she did gain weight from not having enough training time, but is now back on track. the reason she's "flown around" is not just to promote american gladiators. she has done numerous interviews and appearances trying to promote the sport of mixed martial arts. it's difficult to fault her for that, but only time will tell if her time dedicated to promoting will take away from her performance on the 31st.

so far, it hasn't.

carano by ko or tko in the second in what will likely be fight of the night.

Gina has MMA experience, Kaitlyn has the training advantage.

Hard to call. Should be a war!

Im betting htat young takes this. I think that young will be in better condition, with superior standup, more power and good enough ground to stave off the sub attempts

Going with kaitlin young, ever since i saw her performance in the HooknShoot tourny she totally won me over. If she stays patient she may be looking at her biggest profile win yet
