New Respect for Tim Sylvia

WOW...I know he may not be the most exciting fighter out there, but you have to love this man's fighting spirit. He wants only the best. Win or lose I will have a new respect for him after his fight with Fedor.

What do guys think?...does this fight garner any new respect for Timmay, or even Fedor for that matter?

I think you missed the point.

But even so, getting owned? Did you see the fight? Tim was doing the owning through 2 rounds. Nog had to resort to pulling guard. Landed a sweep and got the guillotine as Sylvia was trying to get up. Beating someone up for two rounds before getting caught in a submission isn't getting owned.

Just cause Im new to the site doesnt mean Im new to the sport.
He earned mine during the Nog fight. He looked the best Ive seen him since the Ricco and Cabage fights. Good for him for taking this fight, maybe I should say congrats to him for getting the chance. Good luck to him.

Nog played Sylvias game for 2 rounds and didnt lose, Sylvia played Nogs game for 30 seconds and got owned.

Tim got owned by Nog. Nog was the one who finished his opponent.

New respect? I'm sure theres more than 100 Hw's that would fight Fedor with one week notice. Everyone would want a change to beat the best.

For me the respect has pretty much always been there. People can choose to not take Tim seriously and thats their problem. He's got crisp boxing, and moves very well for a big guy and has very good takedown defense. Sure he got submitted by Nogueira but who the fuck couldn't besides elite submission grapplers?
