IFL Weigh-ins = AWESOME

So I went to the IFL Weigh-ins yesterday and it was the BEST. I got there about 45 min. early and my buddy and I were the only ones there. The fighters started rolling in around 3pm. I met and talked with every fighter on the card as well as the coaches. Everyone was really cool and personable, they took the time to talk, sign autographs and get pictures. And when I thanked them for the picture or autograph they were all like "no, thank you for the support". I sat down and talked with Matt Lindland for about 25 minutes - he was really cool. Talked to Kurt Otto for a while and he let me hold the new Grand Prix belt. Before the weigh-ins started I was talking to Jay Hieron about his injury and training - and I asked him to sign this poster that I had created of him (I'm a Graphic Designer). He thought it was the coolest thing. After he signs it he calls to Chris Horodecki and Shawn Tompkins to show it to them and then gives me his address so I can mail him out a copy of the poster. The whole experience was the best. During the weigh-in itself I sat in between Delson Heleno and Ben Rothwell with Rory Markham and Bart P. right in front of me. There were only about 30 people there so you didn't have to fight through crowds or feel rushed. And they gave away a shit load of free stuff - I got stickers of all the teams, IFL stickers, posters, flyers, towels, shirts, energy drinks and a bunch of other shit. If anyone ever has the opportunity to attend and IFL weigh in - by all means go - you will not regret it.

sounds pretty sweet. Should have asked Horodecki when he's gonna step up to the UFC and fight some real competition. Do disrespect intended to the IFL.

Sounds awesome.... lucky bastard, they didn't have free shirts, towels, or energy drinks here (only stickers/team cards/flyers) :p

30 people? That's too bad because I think the IFL is going to run out of money soon. I wish more of the UFC fans were IFL fans.
