fedors takedowns are great and what makes them so good is becuyase it very hard to defend most people come in for a doube or single and that gets stfuufed he comes for the body and uses a trip along with his know freakish strength, babalu said that he is so strong when thy fought that fedor just threw to the mat
BTW
FEDOR WILL BEAT TIM INTO A LIVING DEATH

I gotta say, I'm worried about him fighting Timmy. I really think this is a bad matchup for him. Fedor as you pointed out is best at the upper body TDs. He is good at countering others' attempts at upper body TD's as well. Tim is not going to have anything to do with that. I think he may be able to keep Fedor away and he can sprawl well. I don't want Fedor standing with Timmy the whole fight. Tim could shoot for the decision and force Fedor to make a rare mistake.

Fedor is Fedor and if he wins in stunning fashion, it will only increase my respect for him.

I see Fedor swinging his right hand then closing the distance for a clinch.

tim's weakness is upper body takedowns... which is fedors strength

is this fight in a ring or cage?

also ts u forgot the reversal hunt had on fedor. it looked the the hmc reversals if u know what i mean. also u could say randleman took fedor down 2x

No TD is: if somone stumble down, get knocked down, dont touch bottom with uper body or both knees
Best example is the Fujita fight although they where several times on the ground the fight got only one upperbody takedown by fujita.
A good fight with nice takedowns is Fedor vs Nog 3, i`ve counted for Fedor 7 Upperbody tds, 2 sprawled shoots, 2 reversed shoots, 1 single leg. And for Nog the only one uper budy in all their fights.p

So here we go! Fedor Emelianenko has taken

66 times somone down (is there anyone with more active tds?). Thereof are

39 upper body takedowns (nearly all a throw or trap from a clinch, at most 2 are shoots)

11 reverses, takedowns forced by others reversed by fedor for a throw (mostly countered shoots, 1 beautiful reversed upperbody td vs. Lindland and Ogawa)

14 sprawls (countered shoots, in all cases the other fighter lands on the ground under fedor)

2 single leg takedowns (1 vs Nagata and 1 in Nog3, more a throw and not to compare with the ones from coleman but if randy as commentator calls them so then it must be right)

Fedor Emelianenko has been taken

15 times down ( 1xLazarev, 2xArona, 2xHaseman, 1xFujita, 4xColeman, 1xRandleman 1xNogueira, 2xHong man Choi). Thereof are

5 upper body takedowns

2 double leg takedowns (both Arona)

6 single leg takedowns

2 reverses (the 2 by Hong man Choi...yes i know... not exactly a reverse but fedor forced td and HmC landed on top)

Conclusion:

So Fedor has a realy nice 66-15 TD stats.
Only 8 of 27 Fighters where able to take him down.
But realy scary is the fact that in 30 fights fedor has never been sprawled and if you are not a 7`2 and 350lbs corean you also cant reverse or flee or counter his takedowns. At least its never been made!

No hate just discuss. And sorry for my bad english plz.

I am just curious, in whatever is your first language, how do you say geek?

Good analysis my friend. What I have always noticed that about Fedor, is take downs are amazing and he transitions really well from throwing a strike to going for a throw.

good analysis TS. thanks. I hope Fedor doesn't get caught on the way in. On the good side, Tim doesn't have the luxury of being a takedown threat to Fedor, so Fedor can focus on not getting hit.

Anything can happen in a fight but I think this match up favors Fedor for sure. He's much quicker than Tim which will pretty much negate his reach advantage. I think with Fedors quickness he'll be able to get inside on Timmy again and again. I also think he'll be able to take him down. He may not land 100% of his takedowns but he will get him down eventually without taking much damage because of his quickness. Once on the ground Fedor has a huge advantage. Timmy is even slower on the ground with a not very good ground game. Fedor can land some vicious ground and pound and/or go for a submission.

I think the only question to this fight is will Fedor be able to take him down and I believe he'll have a much easier time than Noguiera

It would be a reverse by hunt if he would have top position after fedors takedown (like Fedor vs Lindland or HmC vs Fedor).

I updated the stats after the Kohsaka2 fight. (2 upperbodys, 1 reversed shoot and 1 sprawl for Fedor)
