Thanks. That were exactly my thoughts when i decided to work on this stats. Would be nice if somone would publish similar stats about other top fighters.
I will bring Fedors submission stats next time.

No TD is: if somone stumble down, get knocked down, dont touch bottom with uper body or both knees
Best example is the Fujita fight although they where several times on the ground the fight got only one uperbody takedown by fujita.
A good fight with nice takedowns is Fedor vs Nog 3, i`ve counted for Fedor 7 Uperbody tds, 2 sprawled shoots, 2 reversed shoots, 1 single leg. And for Nog the only one uper budy in all their fights.
So here we go! Fedor Emelianenko has taken
66 times somone down (is there anyone with more active tds?). Thereof are
39 uper body takedowns (nearly all a throw or trap from a clinch, at most 2 are shoots)
11 reverses, takedowns forced by others reversed by fedor for a throw (mostly countered shoots, 1 beautiful reversed uperbody td vs. Lindland and Ogawa)
14 sprawls (countered shoots, in all cases the other fighter lands on the ground under fedor)
2 single leg takedowns (1 vs Nagata and 1 in Nog3, more a throw and not to compare with the ones from coleman but if randy as commentator calls them so then it must be right)
Fedor Emelianenko has been taken
15 times down ( 1xLazarev, 2xArona, 2xHaseman, 1xFujita, 4xColeman, 1xRandleman 1xNogueira, 2xHong man Choi). Thereof are
5 uper body takedowns
2 double leg takedowns (both Arona)
6 single leg takedowns
2 reverses (the 2 by Hong man Choi...yes i know... not exactly a reverse but fedor forced td and HmC landed on top)
Conclusion:
So Fedor has a realy nice 66-15 TD stats.
Only 8 of 27 Fighters where able to take him down.
But realy scary is the fact that in 30 fights fedor has never been sprawled and if you are not a 7`2 and 350lbs corean you also cant reverse or flee or counter his takedowns. At least its never been made!
No hate just discuss. And sorry for my bad english plz.

Fedor has taken Judo and Sambo - everyday like a full time job since he was 9 years old. He is a Master of Sports in Sambo (that's the Russian equivalent of like a 10th Dan). It's all in the Sambo training. Fedor is a beast. I like Timmy but I hope Fedor eats Timmy's kids.

Or, Fedor could just walk out there, put Tim down, and keep him there. I don't know why, I just feel weird about this one.

Tim doesn't have the best sprawl anyway.
Tim has good takedown defense. That doesn't mean he is impossible to take down.
Fedors takedowns are going to rely on what happens when Tim and Fedor clinch. To me, thats the biggest question of this fight. Tim has shown a really decent clinch in the past, its just overlooked because of the boring nature of that particular tactic. In his fights with Cabbage,Assuerio, Vera and Noguiera, he showed solid clinch work.
Fedors takedowns are, for the most part, of the upper body, clinch variety.
If Tim doesn't get tagged and hurt very early, which he occasionally does, thats where this fight will be fought.
People insist that Fedor getting Tim down = instant submission, but if people have watched Tims fights, he has a pretty good guard. (see Monson, and Couture, sure Tm lost badly to Couture but he did a good job avoiding most of the damage of Randy's GnP and Randy was able to do nothing riding Tims back for an entire round.) If Fedor floors him with a punch, Tims training specifically includes drills for standing after a knockdown, see the adjustment after the first Arlovski fight, where he flopped like a fish and the second where he immediately stood and KOed Arlovski.

It wasn't a farce. It was a tournament where someone had to advance. Fedor was injured and unable to continue.

About fedor and tim.... He did get his arm broke last fight and i wonder if fedor is going to focus on that? I mean have you ever seen an armbar like fedors? He jumps on the chst and has it sunk in in like 2 seconds not even exagerating. I think if tim can keep the fight standing hes got like 70 % chance winning this fight by decision but i dotn see him knocking fedor out. If it goes to the ground even once i give tim about 20 secoinds max after they hit the ground.

Tim didn't break his arm versus Nog. That was against Mir, several years ago. He also came into the second Arlovski fight with a fractured right arm, but he was OK for the Nog fight. It was a guillotine that caught Tim in his fight with Nog.

Great post. Fedor is a beast. Based on what Fedor can do, I tend to think that Sambo is just as good for MMA takedowns and takedown defense as Greco-Roman wrestling.
