I think Tims one chance is to keep Fedor at a distance and grind it out with jabs.
But I have no idea how he would keep Fedor at a distance. A bear trap maybe?

Or, Fedor could just walk out there, put Tim down, and keep him there. I don't know why, I just feel weird about this one.

He's already fought a bigger, better fighter, without having the problems you foresee: Semmy Schilt. Better striker, larger than Tim, faster, in better shape, more range, etc, etc. And let's not forget, one of his oldest training partners is 6'6", around 260, and much more talented than Timmy in both boxing and grappling.

Problem is if Fedor ends up on top of Tim the fight could be over very quickly, but even if Fedor simply pulls Tim on top of himself, A la Nogueira, Fedor still has a great shot at subbing Tim from the bottom or reversing him. Tim has great take down defense but has he ever fought anyone with Fedor's style of take downs? Most of Tim's opponents with good take downs have been wrestlers, like Randy and Monson who shoot for doubles and singles, which are much easier to escape.
Fedor could even suprise Tim by shooting for a double or a single when Tim isn't expecting it, like he probably won't be.

Fedor has Fought people as tall as tim and done awesome. I think that he will win, and do about as good as arlovski did the first time.

This is one of the most researched posts ive seen maybe ever. Great work by the thread starter. There needs to be a unified governing body to keep track of stats like this ASAP so we can have a better way than win-loss records to judge fights prior to the fight. It is my opinion that as far as HWs go Fedor is the best wrestler hands down, including Randy Couture. Fedor's grappling is amazing.

It's not as if he hasn't faced Heavy hitters either, CroCop, Hunt even Hong Man Choi.

CC and Hunt are heavy hitters. I don't think that any of them got to Fedor with power. I just think Tim is a more confusing fighter than we on this board give him credit. Yes, Fedor is masterful at avoiding getting hit unlike Hunt who doesn't have to avoid it. I don't think Fedor has a glass jaw. I'm saying he isn't freakish like BJ, Page, and Hunt. That is his only weakness and it isn't much of one due to his elusiveness. I can't believe I just typed that word.

it would be good to consolidate a lot of numbers like this of very successful fighters... they give u a good idea of what techniques are most viable, etc.
