Yea but that's one card bro , What about the next one and the one after that?? Affliction is gonna run into big problems aswell if they dont put up cards that are at least decent.

I hope another org or promoter has some success. There's far too much talent for the UFC to have under one roof and be able to give them enough fights and $$$. I do not want to see it turn into boxing where there's an alphabet champ everywhere. Maybe a couple of big orgs where the fighters flow through so we get to see most of the desired matchups.

Hope Elite XC has a strong showing coming up here, and looks like advance tickets are moving well

LMAO. I hope you feel that way because you are thrilled about the quality MMA card they've put together and not because you're the guy with 10 Affliction shirts.

How could any idiot in their right mind want Elite XC to fail?

Wow, I remember not to long ago everyone was bashing UFC and Dana White for not getting the deal on a major network

The educated fans were bashing more on the front of that Zuffa is going to have to losing the neck tie when it comes to broadcasting. Dana makes it sounds like if they turn over any production rights that the UFC is going down the drain. Reality is no major network knows how to present the UFC so chances are they're going to ask the UFC for direction in there product. Its not like Zuffa is going ot have no control over the end product we see. I'm actually kind of shocked their letting Ken Flo host a show (similar to Inside MMA) on ESPN.com each week that talks about all things MMA. Maybe its a first step in realizing that they can't have a choke hold on there baby forever.

and have you met Kimbo?? the dude is a real fighter, and a funny and nice dude, but dont tell anyone..... what else do you want? we fans love to watch fights...

and he is famous for KOing people and each time he does, it is front of bigger and bigger crowds...

i am just amazed how negative people are.. i mean, everyone thinks theyre vision of what fighting is and how it should be sold is the gospel..

just like TUF brought is millions of new fans, Kimbo is doing the same.

That's obvious for the main card to be the draw . That goes without saying , I have'nt met kimbo have you? I doubt it but you'd prolly say you did to support your argument but I don't think him being nice & cool etc. holds any water because im yet to find a thread criticizing kimbo's non nice non cool persona , He's KO ing bums TS that's what he's doing . Don't confuse criticism for being negative JUST because you dont generally agree . It's not about "everybodys vision of fighting" it just comes down to what different people like that's it. TUF brought in millions of CASUAL FANS not hardcore fans & That's WHAT KIMBO IS BRINGING.

I hope they both survive and join forces, have one fight deals with strikeforce and CR and KOTC and anyone else who wants to be on SHOWTIME---if this happens every one of you would be an idiot not too have a subscription to showtime, If you could get a Cung V F,sham or a Fedor V A.Silva once a month for 10-$15 per month-thats a freakin steal in my book. Elite has the desire to put on the very best fights PERIOD-- WE NEED ELITE TO MAKE IT

The only difference is that both the UFC & SpikeTV bet the farm on TUF, while EliteXC is the only one betting the farm on 'Primetime'.

Spike was on the brink of getting dropped by cable providers due to their pitiful ratings. TUF was their last ditch effort to make a grab at the 18-35 year old male demographic that they had promised to management when they switched formats. If TUF had failed, chances are that both the UFC & SpikeTV would be out of business.

CBS, while struggling to keep up with it's network brethren, is in no danger of going out of business. They don't have nearly as much invested in EliteXC as SpikeTV had invested in the UFC. If EliteXC fails, CBS will just move on to something else. If TUF had failed, Spike was going out of business.

The UFC & SpikeTV were true partners. EliteXC is nothing more than a expendable content provider to CBS.
CBS recently put a huge amount of money behind Elite XC. Also noteworthy that "On May 9, 2008, Kelly Perdew submitted his resignation as President of ProElite.com effective May 20, 2008." Somethings going on behind the scenes.

PELE.PK: Insider Transactions for PRO ELITE INC NEW - Yahoo! Finance

They've taken Elite XC from Showtime to primetime network TV. Seeing as how Showtime and CBS are both owned by the same company and CBS was willing to take it from premium channel to network, I think they have faith in what they're selling.

I don't think they're expecting over the top ratings. In fact, I've heard an insider with the company say that he's expecting mediocre ratings from the first go round. Still, he definitely has never given any hint of fear that his job and financial well being might be at risk.

We'll see what happens, but I don't think they're in as much trouble as this over dramatic thread is making it out to be.

WAR ELITE XC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
