I wouldnt call Shamrock a "young up and comer", and Baroni sucks. Cung Le has a huge upside though, but Elite XC sticks Kimbo as their headliner on the first primetime show which is the point the previous post was making.

so you guys would rather of no MMA on network tv then have Kimbo headline and have MMA on TV?

seems very selfish.

No, i'd rather Elite XC use an actual talented MMA artist (which they have a few) to use as the headliner for hte first primetime MMA show. Showing a guy who is famous for fighting in backyards isn't exactly presenting the image of MMA to the mainstream that most true fans would want to see.

No, Shamrock is good for main events...I would have rather seen him than Kimbo in a heartbeat. My point was he's not a "young up and comer" He's been an established fighter for a long time

EliteXC's roster rivals that of any other non-UFC American promoter.
Lawler and Eddie are such monsters, I fucking love them.

Kind of ranty, but I agree.

yes

i'd hate for new fans to get into mma and think that any street brawler who puts his fights on youtube can become a headliner in what is supposed to be a a legitimate sport

first off... you cant have both... Kimbo draws in viewers which draws in advertisers which pay these fighters good money.... why is it only fans who complain? do you see any of the other fighters on the card saying Kimbo shouldn't be headlining... the reason is they understand the business, it is what they do for a living...

and have you met Kimbo?? the dude is a real fighter, and a funny and nice dude, but dont tell anyone..... what else do you want? we fans love to watch fights...

and he is famous for KOing people and each time he does, it is front of bigger and bigger crowds...

i am just amazed how negative people are.. i mean, everyone thinks theyre vision of what fighting is and how it should be sold is the gospel..

just like TUF brought is millions of new fans, Kimbo is doing the same.
