Eddie Alvarez is underrated. He has a great shot in winning the whole tournament. JZ vs. Alvarez would be an exciting fight.

Or maybe because he hasn`t faced top competition like hellboy has. Joachim has faced Gomi,Sakurai,JZ,Sato,Azeredo,Aoki,Kawaji ri,Edwards,Uno ++++ Its kinda hard to knock guys like that out.
Take a look at who Alvarez has fought....thats right, can`t compare that.
Hansen got mean power in his strikes...loking forward to this fight! War hellboy!

he's fought better fighters sure, but chins are chins,no talent involved in it, and its pure physics that a bigger guy SHOULD have a better chin. Doesn't matter how talented someone is if they have a justin eilers chin. You can also argue that hansen fighters have better defense and are harder to catch.... at that level everyone is going to get hit, nobody completes a fight without getting hit. Outside of thompson the two best fighters eddie has fought both got ko'd in a minute, one of which was KNOWN for his chin and chin alone... just go watch lawler vs riley plz..... and then watch eddie vs riley. Take into consideration how many HUGE shots lawler landed on him in that fight, gaurentee you wouldn't argue that hansen has better power than lawler. Eddie rocked riley with every punch he hit him with. and he's about 30-40 lbs lighter than him(lawler).

That argument was really thin...sorry,i am having lot to these days so i won`t follow up futher. looking forward to one superb match! ;)
Hansen has evolved standig up the last year ,he is competing in boxing as well...some quotes before the boku match...
---------------------------------------------
Hansen would be best advised to take this one to the ground, dude. Boku is a badass striker.
Oh, you forgot to mention that he beat up Franca, even though he tore something in his leg, too haha.
---------------------------------------
Anyway, Boku by takedown defense and making Hansen look more horrible on the feet than Togashi did

look at my post about boku before that, i called that fight to a T, boku has boxing technique but zero power, he hit hansen more than hansen hit him, but he has no power. Dida has MUCH more power, go read the things said about the dida vs eddie fight, ALOT more people were picking dida than people picking hansen, hansen was a huge favorite so was dida. Eddie dominated dida in wayy more devastating fashion than hansen won his bout.

Eddie got knocked down boy....he was in huge trouble.
Hansen was dominating Boku all the way and was just inches away from a finish several times. He wasn`t in trouble at all.

I don't think any serious person had Dida as a "huge favorite" over Alvarez. I think the betting lines were somewhat even. Most people familiar with Dida know he's fun to watch but not that great.

go look back to the origional thread, "dida by destruction" was the common theme " eddie is the feeder for the star" Fact is people thought very highly of dida. and dida was a +550 to win the tourney and eddie was a +1300 i'd call those HUGE differences. the head to head i got locked in at a +220 for eddie, so yes dida was better than a 2 to 1 odds favorite, Which basically is the odds that franklin had against silva for the second fight.
