Now i know Saku has a sense of Humour and often does seem to take bouts quite lightly before competition( like when he drew abs at weigh-in before being brutally beaten by Arona..)
But this and his past few performances Seem to me as though he's overrall just given up and has no specific goals. As the body wears down and his time in the ring does aswell , Like many fighters the motivation and drive to succeed diminishes , which is fine as it happens to many, but to know that your losing that edge and still seeking to prove yourself as number one by entering gp's or title runs it seems redundant and counter-productive. Most of us agree while Saku was at a time top ranked, inovative and entertaining fighter But his time in the ring has passed. If he so chooses to compete still why not take Bouts with Tamura or another High Profile Japanse Fighter ( Misaki..?) tough opponents I know but ones the fans have wanted to see for some time now and ones that I think he could be much more competitive in .

i doubt saku trains at a level even close to todays mmaist. Todays fighters are truly professional athletes, i dont think saku trains the necessary preparations of a pro athlete

I remember reading that he commented on what a bad match-up Melvin is for him and he joked about not even showing up which is probably what the "enjoy the 7 other fights" part was referring too.

It's just depressing to see Saku get beat down fight after fight. I still admire Saku for stepping in the ring, but it's time to retire.

I concur. These people are the worst match makers. Manhoef vs. Saku makes zero sense.
